Born in 1940, the work of acclaimed Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki ranges from photographs of flower arrangements to pictures of his beloved Tokyo, although it is for his erotic portraits of women that he is best known.
Often portrayed in ritual Japanese bondage, his work on this subject has attracted criticism as well as praise.
Nevertheless, Nobuyoshi's mastery of his craft has rarely been questioned, and he is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest photographers.
