Born in 1970 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but raised in the US, Julie Mehretu is known for her gestural, many-layered abstract representations of geographical and psychological space.

A painstaking and slow working artist, editions by Mehretu are comparitively few and keenly sought.
